Managed Services

Organisations are always striving to reduce costs and improve efficiency so trimming IT budgets is of course a desirable approach. This need has led to the rise of large scale outsourcing contracts which promise to take over an entire IT function across a fixed term to deliver potential long term saving.

Managed Services

The details of many of these projects essentially meant replacing skilled in-house IT departments with less expensive contract staff, often off-shore and using shared services to make savings through the economies of scale. Some of these outsourcing projects were a success and others were abject failures. In the worse cases, the promised savings were met through lower levels of service that ultimately caused long term damage to organisations that lost skilled people along with the innovative and competitive edge that clever IT can deliver.

As a company, we looked at the issues with outsourcing and the wider managed service model and went out and talked to our customers, some of whom had tried outsourcing, to help us build a better model. We got a lot of feedback but the most common themes we kept hearing was that a managed service needed to be flexible enough to meet the unique requirements of each situation, and it had to be consistent with a guaranteed level of service delivery. The other feedback we got was certain tasks were better kept in-house and others are more suited to a specialist services provider. Crucially, every organisation wanted the flexibility to get the extra help and resources they needed when they needed it. As one senior manager put it about an ongoing IT transformation project, “…this is a long journey for us, sometimes we need somebody else to take the wheel for a while… a bit like a Co-Driver.” The name stuck.

Firewall Managed Service

Firewall Managed Service

Today’s organisations face an ever-increasing challenge to ensure their businesses remain secure in this new digital age. There is a common challenge with the lack of internal resources, time, skills, training to effectively manage specialised security infrastructure or even perform the necessities such as maintaining an effective software patching strategy or routine maintenance of security policies.

Our fully managed next-generation firewall service can alleviate challenges by offering a service backed by a team of security experts and professionals freeing up your organizations’ IT teams to focus on other tasks and business needs.

The service maximises the investment in the technology by providing deeper visibility into network traffic, application traffic, user behaviour, threats and previously unknown attacks and breaches within the organisation.

WAF

WAF

The Web Application Firewall (WAF) is designed to protect web facing applications from cyber-attack. And just like it’s network firewall equivalent, a WAFs effectiveness is constrained by how well it is maintained and optimised to deal with the emerging threats. Our managed services capability can provide an expert team to look after your WAF estate to better protect your valuable applications with the ability to respond quickly to any new threats or issues.

XDR/EDR

XDR/EDR

The one constant in security is that the threat will evolve. Even with layers of cutting-edge cyber security defences, occasionally, a new and previously unseen computer vulnerability will emerge. These ‘zero-day’ threats are incredibly dangerous as they may well by-pass traditional security measures to wreak havoc before defenders have time to react. Extended Detection and Response (XDR/EDR) is a methodology that looks at not just one type of attack but analyses data from across your entire organisation to look for signs of an attack based on unusual activity.

You can outsource this to our managed services team who will reduce your risk by giving you a proactive approach, drilling down into the data to raise the alarm. Our team are ready to respond effectively before traditional anti-malware systems are patched to detect a known threat.

Wireless

Wireless

Who or what is on your wireless network, and what are they doing? These are vital concerns for businesses of all shapes and sizes, especially as smarter working and living spaces become more prevalent. With our managed wireless services, we can take over the responsibility for onboarding, updating and supporting your wireless network infrastructure with security. Having successfully managed wireless networks in some of the most bizarre and complicated environments, we have the experience to provide you with a fantastic wireless experience to your users, that is both secure and highly performance.
