Security and risk management leaders are really struggling to attract and recruit qualified personnel. Global analyst Gartner believes this dynamic will continue for at least the next three years, as organisations accept the realities of digital business, necessitating alternative approaches to finding cyber-security talent.

So, what about managed security service providers (MSSPs). What can they bring to the table? After all, they seek to provide outsourced monitoring and management of security devices and systems, which may well be at least part of the solution to the particular challenge that so many organisations now appear to be struggling with.

David Hood, managing director, ANSecurity, is of the opinion that managed security services is a bandwagon onto which a lot of resellers have simply jumped on board, due to the perception that it is relatively easy.
