WHY DO I NEED A FIREWALL HEALTH CHECK & AUDIT?
The organisation has changed, is the firewall still meeting the needs of the business? Firewall rules have changed since installation and may no longer adhere to best practice or may be obsolete. Organisations are often unaware what their firewall is doing. Firewall services availability, resilience and risk assessments are often lacking. The firewall may have additional features available which could improve security or the functionality of the firewall.
WHEN SHOULD I HAVE A FIREWALL HEALTH CHECK & AUDIT?
We recommend a firewall health check/audit on an infrequent but regular basis, with some clients in highly secure environments this can be as often as every month. However, for the majority of enterprises, once or twice per year. This is subject to how often the firewall rules change or changes are made within the organisation.
Business drivers include a major change in the business, a merger, publishing new websites or services, new cloud or on-premise business applications or a change of technical administration staff.
WHERE IS THE WORK COMPLETED?
The entire exercise can be done remotely using remote meeting capabilities or on site according to the customer’s preference. Usually, the first half of any health check and audit will be carried out on site, and the second half of the health check can be finished remotely. The health check will be carried out by a certified security consultant with extensive experience.
