An organisation’s worst enemy can still be its staff when it comes phishing attacks.
Much of the chatter in the IT security press is focused around cyber-attacks perpetrated by shadowy external forces. Talk of state-sponsored espionage, organised criminal gangs and hacktivists with goals to uncover illicit activities is the number one challenge, as evidenced by claims of US election tampering, The Panama Papers and numerous Wikileaks revelations. "However, looking at the evidence suggests that most breaches have, at least partially, a cause that lurks within the victim's organisation," says David Hood, CEO, ANSecurity.
